At the moment of the tsunami incident my brother and his wife were on Sri Lanka. Since at least

12 years they have their own house there. As far as we know, nobody did hear

anything from them since the tsunami. We, his mother and sisters, use each possibility to get information,

that's why I send this email.

Maybe you know people who just have come back from the area, who are still there, who live there,

or professional helpers who went to the area.

Of course we like to know all information we can get about our brother/son and or about his wife.

We are also glad with information about the place they live. Or information of the region they live,

at this moment the information is practically zero. In short: all information is very welcome.




Please send this message to all people from whom you think that there is a little change that

they can give us some information at all.

Jos Langeveld, born 26-10-1956, 1.90 m. tall, slender, blond (starting to get bald), blue eyes, small

denture of at least one tooth in the front of his upper jaw. When he wears his wedding ring, it is probably

engraved with the text: Shiranie 27-04-1994.



Shiranie Boellaard 32 years of age, singalese appearance, long black hair, 1.60 m. tall, normal figure.

When she wears her wedding ring, it is probably engraved with the text: Jos 27-04-1994.



The address of their house on Sri Lanka: Anghulugadaroad X, Harumalgoda, Habaraduwa.

Harumalgoda, Habaraduwa is alongside the sea in the south of Sri Lanka, between Matara and Galle.

I am glad to inform you that Jos and Shiranie Langeveld are no longer missing. They have been in touch with us and are besides some not too serious wounds ok.

We thank everyone for their concern and help.

I know it's a long shot, and there are already teams looking for them out there, but it can't hurt for your friend to take the info with him, maybe he can find out what happened to them. I don't know if you can read the article (maybe I'll translate it for everybody), but there is a link to a newspaper article where Denis tells his ordeal, it's beyond anything I can imagine. It doesn't sound like the children had much of a chance of getting out, but who knows?

I hope he won't mind, I know he's not going there to look for people, but being a native may open different avenues in the search of information.
